I know that the dispute boiled down to "he said, she said," but management could have found a way to satisfy unhappy customers.

In the end, after asking for intervention from our credit card company, we paid for the meal, but will not use the services of this establishment in the future. Note that this was a catering order, not a visit to the restaurant. Craving Motzaball soup and wasn't sure what else for dinner. So on the way home from work stop at Zans.
Man behind counter not very helpful. Wasn't even crowded, only two tables had customers. Not a good sign.

I asked questions but the counter person did not elaborate on any specials. I did not see the brisket, pastrami just fried chicken. So I bought the chicken and the soup, which only has motza balls presented separately in one container and clear soup with noodles in other. Whe I arrived home the chicken was refrigerator cold, so I heated in oven just a few minutes It would have been dry even without heating. Soup was just ok.
A very disappointing dinner. Why wasn't it warm at the time if purchase? Not returning.
Not worth it. Not many decent, kosher delis left on Long Island but this holdout is a gem as long as you dont care about calories, Cholesterol or your health. You cannot find a better pastrami or corned beef sandwich anywhere on Long Island and their soups are incredible. They have all of the well known Jewish delicacies and are wonderful if you need to cater a great Jewish holiday meal at home.
Fabulous brisket, juicy turkey sliced and put back on the frame A wonderful place that caters to an overweight, Jewish senior citizen clientele with a few stragglers as well. They advertise a special in the local papers where you can get a dish and have the second one of the same or lower price, free.
Must have 'The Hat's" Pastrami [moved from Site Talk]
This place beats all of the local kosher delis and can hold its own with the famous ones in Manhattan. Incredible deli!

What's the Difference? Ale vs. Lager Video from Food IQ Follow. What's the difference between an ale and a lager? The vacant lot on Houston Street was home to barrels of meat and pickles until the storefront facade was added in the period In the early part of the twentieth century, the Lower East Side was home to millions of newly immigrated families. On Fridays, the neighborhood turned out for franks and beans, a long time Katz tradition.
During the peak of the Yiddish theater , the restaurant was frequently full of actors, singers and comedians from the many theaters on Second Avenue as well as the National Theater on Houston Street. The next change in ownership took place with the death of Willy Katz, as his son Lenny took over. In , on the th anniversary of its establishment, with no offspring of their own to leave the business to, Lenny, Izzy and Arthur sold it to long-time restaurateur Martin Dell, his son Alan — who was a chef and a manager at a neighboring deli — and Martin's son-in-law Fred Austin.
The restaurant celebrated its th anniversary in In connection with that celebration, the restaurant opened a pop-up art gallery next door. During World War II , Katz's encouraged parents to "Send a salami to your boy in the army" which became one of the deli's noted catch phrases. Katz's continues to support American troops today: the deli has arranged special international shipping for U.
Another of the deli's catch phrases is "Katz's, that's all! This was misinterpreted by the sign maker who painted the sign as it stands today on the side of the building. As each customer enters Katz's, a door attendant hands them a printed, numbered ticket.
